The Console Table uses original Golden Gate Bridge handrail caps at either end of a slim base, combining historic steel with new steel. A long glass top keeps the architectural structure visible.
Designed for an entryway, along a living-room wall or behind a sofa, this narrow console adds functional display space and a piece of San Francisco history.
The historic steel comes from the Golden Gate Bridge’s original pedestrian handrail, installed in 1937 and removed in 1993 after 56 years on the bridge. Originally produced by Bethlehem Steel in Pennsylvania, this reclaimed material is crafted into furniture, art and gifts by Golden Gate Furniture Co. in San Francisco. Surface texture and weathering vary from piece to piece.
This design is crafted individually or in small batches. Please allow approximately 4–6 weeks for availability to ship and contact us to confirm the current lead time and delivery arrangements.
