Golden Gate Bridge Steel Nugget

Keep a piece of San Francisco with you.

The Golden Gate Bridge Steel Nugget contains a small piece of authentic steel from the original Golden Gate Bridge pedestrian handrail, installed in 1937 and removed in 1993. It comes from the same historic handrail material we use to create our furniture, art and other Golden Gate Bridge pieces.

The original handrail steel was produced by Bethlehem Steel in Pennsylvania and spent 56 years on the Golden Gate Bridge, exposed to the wind and salt air of the Golden Gate.

Each rough-cut piece is tumbled to smooth the edges and finished in International Orange, the official color of the Golden Gate Bridge. The steel is presented in a clear round case with a descriptive card and a small magnet on the back, allowing it to be displayed on a refrigerator or other magnetic surface.
