SF Heart Wall Sculpture
A heart made from a piece of San Francisco history.
The SF Heart Wall Sculpture is handcrafted from original steel removed from the Golden Gate Bridge’s historic pedestrian handrail. The steel was installed during the bridge’s original construction in the 1930s and remained exposed to the wind and salt air of the Golden Gate until the handrail was removed in 1993.
Each heart combines pieces retaining their naturally weathered patina with steel finished in the bridge’s unmistakable International Orange. A section featuring two original rivets forms the center of the design, creating a striking reminder of the steel’s industrial past.
Every SF Heart is individually handcrafted in San Francisco, and variations in paint, patina, texture, and weathering make each one unique. No two are exactly alike.
Details: 13” × 13” approximately; 7.5 lbs.; original Golden Gate Bridge handrail steel; original riveted steel incorporated into the design; patina and International Orange finishes; handcrafted in San Francisco.
A distinctive piece of wall art for anyone who loves San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, industrial design, or objects with a genuine story behind them.
