This specific wall art sculpture uses slices of steel cut from the rail cap that runs along the top of the original Golden Gate Bridge historic handrail. The slices radiate out from a center piece of steel also sourced from the Golden Gate Bridge. Each piece is bushed clean of debris and rough edges, then given a fresh coat of International Orange.

Wall art sculpture designs are crafted from original handrail off San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. Placed on the bridge during its construction in the 1930s, these original sections of handrail were removed in 1993 due to weathering and fatigue. This historic American steel, produced by Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Pennsylvania, has been exposed to the wind and the salt air of the Golden Gate for 56 years, leaving a characteristic weathering in its patina finish.

Wall art sculpture is handcrafted at our workshop in San Francisco. Original Golden Gate Bridge Steel was fabricated by Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Pennsylvania in the 1930s.
